Following two years without discharging new music, Luis Fonsi needed to make “a fun track that had that Latin feel with a tune that I feel extremely great singing and that will make individuals simply move”. As per Erika Ender, the verses were born in late 2015 in Fonsi’s home after he communicated his longing to record a “swinging tune” for his new album. Fonsi demonstrated the chorale he had kept in touch with Ender, his companion and victor of a 2016 Latin Grammy Award as a lyricist and they then co-composed whatever remains of the song.
